Change Your Mind, Change Your Life in 30 days or less
Mind
How do you change your mind? Begin with a mind-movie or visual effects that take you from your left brain, logical mode, to your right brain called imagination. In the right brain, you are free. There are no restrictions. There is no budget of time, money or place. It is a open door that can swing wide open to everything you ever dreamed of, everything you ever wished for.
Why don’t we pursue this? Our left brain tells us a list of
don’t haves-
I don’t have time to pursue my dreams.
I don’t have the money.
I don’t have the talent.
I’ll never make it.
I don’t have the drive or ambition.
I don’t know what other people would think of the risk I am taking.
I don’t have…. you fill in the blank.
See how easy it is to talk yourself out of your destiny? your calling to greatness?
The right brain (it is even called the right side!) whispers greatness is encoded in your DNA. It makes a list of
I haves-
I have the time if I make the time.
I have the money if I choose to spend to invest in my future.
I have the talent, though it may be raw or hidden deep in my soul.
I have the drive, if I choose to engage it.
I have the will, I will sing the song God meant for me to sing and I
will sing it out loud.
I have no thought of what others think of me, because at my funeral what they thought of my dreams will matter none at all.
I have as much time and energy as I can squeeze out of each day – a sign of success.
The right brain is the stuff from which theme parks are visualized, then constructed. Nothing is made without a vision first. Everything, absolutely everything you see around you was an idea in someone’s mind before it became a physical reality. Only God creates something from nothing, but He has given us the blueprint to copy Him. The spark of divinity was given to His children as a gift. Those who use the spark make a fire, a fire that only they know how to fuel with the gifts, and talents and creative thoughts and wishes.
You must ask yourself these questions?
Where is your fire?
What stokes up your embers?
What makes you feel alive?
What is your fuel?
What hobbies do you have that you are passionate about? Why do you love these?
What is on your “one day I will do” list?
Why haven’t you started it?
What are you waiting for? Do you think life will wait for you?
Do you think time will wait for you?
Do you know that only you (and maybe a couple others in your life) really care about your dreams, but God made you for these dreams?
What do you think about when you are sitting at a red light that has nothing to do with bills, or work or stressful problems? No, really, what is it that defines the faraway look in your eye? You know the one – when people ask you, where are you? Come back to reality and focus.
What do you wish your reality looked like?
Ahhhh…. now you have begun.
You have begun to live your dream – to flesh out your dream.
You have begun to live and not merely exist and breathe and dread another day.
You have begun to be the creature that God created to be creatively creating – just like your Maker. He is your Coach. He is on the sidelines yelling for you, and when obstacles come, He is saying – jump over it, go wide, go deep, tunnel through til your hands and heart are raw, don’t give up, don’t give in.
Keep pushing, keep striving, even when it hurts, ESPECIALLY when it hurts. That means you are making progress. Growth always demands some measure of pain – be it what you get when you encounter new fears and new challenges or what others dish out to you, knowingly or unknowingly because of their own fears, jealousies or insecurites. People like winners, but not if that person is doing what they should be doing and lack the time or the will or the courage.
Because you see it takes all of it. All of everything within you to get from one side of the fence to the other. If you look squarely in the mirror and face yourself and realize that the only person you ultimately have to answer to is the One who has all of the answers, you will begin your journey of
no fear when you risk doing something new or uncomfortable – know this, those feelings are what a moth probably experiences as he feels the sticky coating begin to envelope his body and again when he emerges as a new creature, more beautiful than the eye can behold.
Now, take just a moment and ponder this thought -
If the Creator of all time and place can do this in one instance with one insect out of millions of critters on this planet, what do you imagine that He can do for you?
Now, hold that thought because you are now in the zone – the zone of anything is possible.
If you truly believed that anything is possible, what would you do?
No, really WHAT would you do with your life?
In five years, where would you be? What would your life look life?
Who would be in your life? What would your daily tasks look like then in contrast to now?
What are you doing NOW to change THEN?
Do you think that wishing it will make it so? Only partly.
The wishing has to be so intense that the wishing becomes the doing.
And the doing will change your life.
